I wrote a book
In January 2024 I embarked on a journey I had considered for most of my life. I've always enjoyed writing, but most of my writing was marketing related. I told my family on a road trip, on our way back from Charleston, that I was considering writing a book. They told me to go for it and promised they'd each read it. For years I've logged potential book ideas, and this first book is the offspring of one of those ideas.

I've written the book as a potential series. No, not one of those mind-boggling series that never seems to end or reach any kind of resolution. Each book will tell a single story, but each will also include sustaining series characters I hope you enjoy.
The Chronicles of Hoosier Hills Inn (Summary)
A collection of unusual tales about self-discovery, healing, and personal growth.
Irk of Impetus (Summary)
Ted Bradbury, a sixteen-year-old boy from Beaufort, South Carolina, walks through a mysterious door, in a mysterious rural Indiana inn, and his world is changed forever. Through the hardships of physical and mental trials, life and death, love and hate, he emerges into a life full of new friendships and newfound passions.
This turned into a labor of love for me. I've spent the last year cultivating the story and its characters. I have grown to adore them more than I ever expected. I don't know if that's normal, but if you read my book I hope you learn to love the characters at least half as much as I do.
Some things to keep in mind:
- I wrote this for a young adult audience, but I feel it is safe for children ages 13 and up. There are references to some blood and gore, a little kissing, and there are a few light curse words.
- Every word in the book is my own, originating from my slow, middle-aged brain. I did, however, use AI once or twice as an aid only to generate lists like "what are 10 personality struggles teenagers have and how to solve them." I'm still searching for solutions for the second part.
- "Irk of Impetus" is the final book title. The series title-"Chronicles of Hoosier Hills Inn"-is not finalized- still not sure how I feel about it. I welcome your ideas and suggestions.
If you read my book, please leave your feedback. I welcome honest, constructive feedback. If you send me unhelpful criticism, I will hire an angry Ewok to find you and roast you over a fire. You may tell me that you just don't like it, and I hope you give your reasons. You may also tell me why you love it. I also hope you give your reasons for that as well. Contrary to what my wife may think, I am realistic (sometimes). I know many people will not like the book. That's ok. I just hope that a few of you enjoy it.
