My Review

I'm pretty sure I bought this for Jess from Half-Price Books for Christmas. I've seen it laying around and have been meaning to read it for a number of years now. I had some trepidation considering it's a 200 year old book and assumed the language was lengthy and stuffy. About 1/3 in I braced myself for a long, unexciting journey into the social interactions of an overly proper society, where societal roles were strictly adhered to.

Boy was I wrong. I really, really enjoyed this book. There was no action, no violence, and no sex to move the story along.... not that I need that kind of thing.... but my own prejudice of old books certainly impacted my initial perception. Luckily, it didn't keep me from reading on.
