The Alchemist
Paulo Coelho
My Review
This is the story of a shepherd boy named Santiago who lived in Andalusia, the southern-most part of Spain. Mostly referred to as "the boy," he starts a journey to find is Personal Legend. The boy met several important people and guides during his travels, all with good life lessons. I pasted some of my favorite quotes below. The boy's personal legend was to find a treasure near the pyramids of Egypt.
[WARNING: SPOILERS!]
I expected him to find treasure within himself, within his relationships, or something along those lines. Almost disappointed that he found an actual treasure in the end. Still a fun book to read, chock full of quality advice about life.

“Don’t forget that everything you deal with is only one thing and nothing else."
“When you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it,”
“It’s not what enters men’s mouths that’s evil,” said the alchemist. “It’s what comes out of their mouths that is.”
“God created the world so that, through its visible objects, men could understand his spiritual teachings and the marvels of his wisdom. That’s what I mean by action.”
“The boy remembered an old proverb from his country. It said that the darkest hour of the night came just before the dawn.”
